Islamic Studies
The primary objectives of the Islamic Studies Unit is to prepare young students for life as practicing Muslims.
Muslim children with fairly good receptive language are referred to the Unit by the class teacher.
The aim of the Unit is:
- To assess the child’s ability to understand the concepts of Islam.
- To plan a programme accordingly, which involves both oral and practical teaching
- To teach the basic concepts of Islam and Islamic morals and values through the introduction of Islamic Education Books.
- Topics include the recitation of short Surahs and Hadith, the basic tenets of Islam, the process of ablution and the performance of prayers.
