International Award Scheme

The International Award for Young People is one of Individual Challenge. It provides young people a balanced non-competitive programme of voluntary activities, which encourages personal discovery, growth, self-reliance, perseverance, responsibility to themselves and service to their community. This concept was first introduced in the UK as the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award. The aim was to motivate young people aged between 14 and 25 to become involved in a balanced programme of independent self-development activities to take them through the potentially difficult period between adolescence and adulthood. This year the Children received their award from Her Majesty's Consul General Mr. John Hawkins.
