ANNUAL EVENTS

Oil field Barbeque – Gecko: The 3^rd Annual Oil Field BBQ Event was organized by Gecko Events Management at the Le Meridien Mina Seyahi on the 19^th of April 2006 with the central theme being “Pirates”. The Event included an auction which raised much needed funds for Al Noor. Gecko Events are very keen supporters of Al Noor and have contributed tremendously towards Al Noor’s mission for a number of years. This year Barbeque was supported by Platinum sponsors DULSCO, Gold sponsors ENSCO Oceanics International Company, International Tubular Services, Lamprell, PSL Energy Services, Oilfield Supply Centre Ltd., Silver sponsors Momentum Engineering, Tubular Solutions & Drilling Services with Styles Oilfield Development Ltd., Indago Petroleum, Dragon Oil, Nabors Drilling International, Brandt NOV, Bronze sponsors Oilfield Material Management, High Arctic, Weatherford Oil Tool Middle East, Hunting Oilfield Services, Pemco, Hydraulic Well Control Inc., Elmar NOV and Woodhouse International.

Jebel Ali Challenge Match - Jebel Ali Golf Resort and Spa: The Jebel Ali Challenge Match includes some of the worlds best Golfers who take part in at the Jebel Ali Golf Resort and Spa. It is a Team Game and also raises much needed support for the Al Noor Centre and two other Charities over the last few years. This year’s participants included Tiger Woods, Ernie Els, Colin Montgomorie and a host of well known professionals. This Event was supported by Nakheel in association with Dubai Desert Classic.

Cinestar Movies: Cinestar Movies had once again invited the Al Noor Centre to be the beneficiary from the sale of tickets of the Movie Premiere “ICE AGE 2”. This is the 4^th consecutive movie premiere that Al Noor has benefited from, thanks to Cinestar. Ice Age 2 was a huge sell out and an enjoyable experience for all those who viewed the movie.

The Ballet Centre: The Ballet Centre has been regularly contributing to Al Noor by organizing various shows in aid of the Special Children at the Centre. Every year the Ballet Centre holds spectacular plays and the proceeds are extended to Al Noor.

Big Five-O Golf Tournament in Aid of Children - Dubai Creek Golf and Yacht Club: The Sixth Big Five-O Golf Tournament in Aid of Children which started on the 13^th of May 2005 was organized by the Dubai Creek Golf and Yacht Club. The Club has been supporting the Al Noor activities with this Fundraising Event over a number of years and have contributed substantially towards the centre’s mission.

Marriott Business Council Parent/ Child Charity Golf Tournament - Marriott Business Council: The Annual Charity Golf Tournament organized by the J.W. Marriott, Dubai has been raising much needed support for the Centre. They have been regular contributors to the Al Noor Centre along with a couple of other charities through this event. Accompanied with a unique 12 hour brunch the Event provides a lot of entertainment through which it supports the activities of the Centre.

Art Works: The "Flight of Falcons" part of the Desert Trilogy organised by Art Works concluded the beautiful and unique Fundraising initiative an has helped raise much needed resources for Al Noor over the past years. We are grateful to all our supporters who sponsored and nominated Al Noor as a beneficiary of this project.

Children’s Hope Foundation: H E Shaikha Lubna Al Qassi mi, UAE Minister of Economy and Planning handed over proceeds to Al Noor and various other charities on behalf of the Children’s Hope Foundation. This year the event took place at the Le Meridien Dubai under the patronage of H.H. Shaikh Ahmad bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Dubai Civil Aviation.

GEMS, Global Education Management Systems: GEMS, part of the Varkey Group which runs around 22 prestigious education institutions raised much needed support for Al Noor through various fundraising activities in their schools. Support from GEMS has been very forthcoming over a long period of time to support the Al Noor children with Special Needs.

Yoga - Djoeke Vanderwerf: Djoeke Vanderwerf has been teaching Yoga at the Al Noor Centre and she has also conducted various Yoga workshops that have help fund the Centre. She has worked for 17 years and has done a world of good for the children at Al Noor.
